Cosmetics, Pets, and the Cow Mystery
Players looking beyond damage numbers will find plenty to chase. The "Mouth Howling at Madness" portal is tied to Echoing Hatred, where shrines must be activated across set wave ranges before the Transparent Goblin appears. The order involves Protection, Bombardment, Lethality, and Focus shrines, with each one linked to a later stage of the activity. The same mode can also lead to unusual pets. The Dog with a Knife is connected to Wave 60, while the Murloc pet comes from fishing and has a painfully low chance of appearing. Then there is the Cow Level mystery. Current reports connect access with Tuesday visits, while defeating the Cow King may let a character open the portal afterwards and share it with the group. Season 15 test discoveries added references to Moo-phisto, a possible Cow God, and a Moo-phisto's Cowbell reward. The clues are amusing but incomplete. Cow King's helmet text, Premium Ribs, and strange offerings all seem to point towards a larger ritual. Once you have enough coins, take them to the Wishing Well east of Cerrigar. Eight coins are needed for the complete ring sequence under the current class requirements, and a group can contribute together in one instance. The Vessel of Hatred branch works differently. Find the destructible Courage object along Traveler's Mountain Path, activate a Shrine of Explosion, and follow the mouse that cannot be hurt. When it vanishes, it can leave a Greater Fortune Coin. Take that coin to the grave southwest of Samuk Village for the Curse Ring. A third story involving the Largest Fortune Coin and Necklace of Dark Omen has clues in the game files, but no reliable method has surfaced. The Krakken quest is just as unusual. Listen to the dialogue at Themys Tavern, investigate the huge corpse east of Philos Island, and fish in the red water to obtain the Lost Arm. Later, fish inside the corpse for a Krakken Parasite, use it as bait near Skartara Island, and follow the trail towards the Red Eel. It is a good reminder that fishing in Diablo 4 is not merely a side activity.
Scosglen Lore and the Council of Koron
Scosglen contains thirty Chronicles of Creation pedestal sets. They look a little like Lilith Altars, though they work more like small direction puzzles. Each set has Primordial, Inarius, and Lilith pedestals. Adjust the Father and Mother pieces until their directions match the Child pedestal. When the arrangement is correct, beams connect the three objects. Complete all thirty sets to unlock more family history, a hidden side quest, and a notable reference to the Nephalem.
