Forza Horizon 6 Update 5, known as the British Automotive Update, brings a fresh selection of cars, a new drift-focused activity, and several changes to the open-world experience. Whether you enjoy collecting vehicles, racing, drifting, or building your garage, there is plenty to explore this month. Players looking to expand their in-game garage can also find ways to make better use of their Forza Horizon 6 Credits while working through the latest Festival Playlist and Car Pass content.
The Festival Playlist introduces three featured cars that can be unlocked without purchasing additional DLC. The first is the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, available by earning 80 Playlist points throughout the month. This powerful grand tourer comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing nearly 800 horsepower and 744 lb-ft of torque. Although the Continental has traditionally been more of a luxury performance car than a competitive racing machine in Forza, its large size and strong power delivery can make it surprisingly entertaining for drifting and casual driving.
The second Festival Playlist addition is the 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior, which requires 20 points during the Summer season. With a lightweight design, a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, and roughly 100 horsepower, the G40 Junior is very different from the Bentley. Its appeal comes from its low weight and genuine racing character. The Ginetta G40 is also an excellent entry-level race car in real life, making it a natural candidate for Spec Racing in FH6. Although the developers have not confirmed that it will join the Spec Racing rotation, it would be a welcome addition. Fans may also hope that the Ginetta G55 GT4 eventually makes its way into the game.
The third Festival Playlist car is the 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR, which can be earned with 20 points during Winter. Powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing around 230 horsepower, the front-wheel-drive hot hatch has plenty of personality. The Astra VXR has also appeared in previous Forza Motorsport titles, but this is its first appearance in the Horizon series. Its real-world racing potential could make it an interesting platform for customization and track builds.
Update 5 also expands the Car Pass lineup. The first major addition is the 2025 McLaren W1, featuring a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with more than 1,200 horsepower. Positioned as the latest entry in McLaren's legendary “1” series after the F1 and P1, the W1 is one of the most exciting hypercars arriving in FH6. The 2023 Dodge Demon 170 follows it with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 producing more than 1,000 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque. Its extreme acceleration and ability to perform wheelies make it one of the wildest modern muscle cars.
The Car Pass also adds the unusual 1998 Renault Sport Spider and the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Luftauto 002. The Renault uses a 2.0-liter engine producing about 150 horsepower, but its lightweight construction should make it enjoyable to drive. Meanwhile, the Porsche combines a 3.2-liter flat-six with 250 horsepower, a reinforced chassis, upgraded suspension, and KW coilovers. Its rugged setup gives it the feeling of an early version of the 911 Dakar concept, making it especially appealing for off-road builds.
Another important addition is the 1990 Jaguar XJS, which enters the Auto Show. Its special Forza Edition can be unlocked through Drift Attack, one of the headline features of Update 5. Drift Attack works similarly to a time-attack event, but instead of simply chasing lap times, players must hit clipping points and achieve the highest possible drift score. This gives drift enthusiasts another structured activity to master.
The update also introduces a temporary British car dealer at the stadium, replacing the usual used car dealer. Two particularly rare vehicles, the 2019 Aston Martin DBS and 1961 Jaguar E-Type, may appear there. Players interested in the Auction House may want to keep an eye out for these cars. Purchasing and holding rare vehicles before their availability becomes limited could potentially create profitable opportunities later.
There is also some important news about what is not coming. The McLaren Senna will not arrive with Update 5. Licensing complications reportedly appear to be the main obstacle, so players may have to wait longer before seeing the famous hypercar in FH6.
Looking ahead, Update 6 will be called Horizon Meets and is scheduled to feature temporary 7-Eleven evolving-world content, a permanent EventLab content pack, new-to-Horizon cars, and a new profile badge. The decision to make the 7-Eleven world content temporary has already raised questions, especially because it connects strongly with Japanese car culture. Players are also watching the future of the Edamame circuit, which may be removed without an obvious replacement.
